Money Management in Poker, the Smart Way to Play

Just do not be disappointed if you lose it all and you have to stick to your commitment of not funding your poker budget for another two weeks. If you decide to go into the game with a full realization of this and determination not to go over the budget then you will be more at ease and ready for the consequences whether good or bad.

Aside from you budget management you need to consider some sort of management format for your winnings. You will no doubt be disappointed if you are having a good night and decide to extend yourself beyond your normal time limits just because you have won, then you end up losing.

Try to set yourself some winning rules. Perhaps decide that you are going to take ½ half or ¾ of you winnings and put them with your poker budget money. This way you can continue to play if you are doing well, and you still have money to add to your poker account.

Do not forget to set limits for yourself. Set a time limit for play. Perhaps you can afford to take two hours out of your lifestyle schedule and enjoy a game of poker.

In addition, set wins and loss limits as well. This way you are going to protect yourself from over extending your budget.
